4th of July Parade
Celebrating America's 250th
Join us as we march in celebration of our nation’s independence. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, July 4 (rain date: Sunday, July 5).
Gather your friends, family, neighbors - groups of any kind are welcome to participate! We encourage you to decorate your bike, scooter, wagon, tractor, truck or antique car for the parade. Everyone is welcome to join the fun!
Schedule of Events
9:30 Meet Up – Vehicles and floats meet on Cheney Street. Marchers and bicycles meet at the bottom of Walnut and the Mill Race Preserve.
10:00 Parade Begins – March progresses through Ivoryton Village
11:00 Independence Ceremony – Begins at the Ivoryton Village Green Gazebo, featuring:

Singing our National Anthem

Presenting of the Flags
Food and items from local vendors will be available throughout the event.

Celebrate Freedom
With a Float!
This year we are welcoming groups and organizations to participate in the parade with floats! This exciting new opportunity is a great way to showcase your creativity and artistic talent while contributing to the event's celebrations.
If you would like to submit your float idea for approval, please email us at July4floats2026@gmail.com. Please note that float themes which are political in nature will not be approved.
The deadline for submitting your float concept is April 15, 2026.
Requirements:

Safety Standards: No riding on the edge of floats, no standing while in motion, and adult supervision for children.

Fire Safety: Open flames are prohibited, fire extinguishers on board and/or in the vehicle, and flame-retardant materials.

Construction: Decorations should be flame-retardant and kept clear of the exhaust pipe.

Operation: Drivers must have a valid license and maintain a walking pace.
Safety Rules:

Throwing Items: Items (candy, flyers) must not be thrown from the float to prevent children from running into the street.

Driver Safety: Drivers must have a clear view and, in some cases, a 180-degree field of vision.

Equipment: Emergency brake system on any trailer.

All auto/vehicles must be registered and insured.
